Reference files are being duplicated. Don't ask when it happened. I started this project this morning and this afternoon the existing ground reference file is duplicated many times.
We used to have this issue when we directly attached 3d models (ie. Terrains) to our Default-3d model. It doesnt seem to happen if you attach your terrain DGN 2D Default model to your current 2D Default model and let the software attach the 3d models.
We were never ever able to track down when and why it happens and it seemed to be random - with one case of 80 reference attachments! It still happens in ORD aswell

Funny enough, I just started getting this - from a 3d dgn (from MX) referenced directly into my Default-3D model. It attaches a reference everytime I select an element in the 2D model (no relationship links at all).
Yes I am getting this happening again with Update 3. Hadn't seen this since early SS4 builds. I hope it will be fixed for update 4!

Ross
Getting the same error in Update 6.

This seems to be something that happens when you directly attach the managed model (ie. 3d) of an OpenRoads DGN to another managed OpenRoads model. It seems to try to reattach itself silently in the background.
I have had users with 1000's of these instances that required a reference detach running overnight - very frustrating. At least they all share the same Reference Logical name so you can detach them all using one key in.
If you make sure to use a 3d-only seed for your terrains it should avoid this issue. Our general workflow is to attach the terrain dgn to our 2d model and once made active it will auto attach to 3d. If you have a 2d/3d file you just need to make sure you attach the 2d model of the DGN to your 2D model and it will auto attach its 3d model to your 3d model.
Although a workflow issue, a defect that needs to be fixed.
