Hey guys,
Its just been a month for me to use bentley open roads and I am trying to do some sub-surface utilities works. I am trying to connect two different conduits with different pipe size to form a new pipe with different pipe size. I watched a lot of youtube videos which shows that the pipe is to be connected with a node, is there a way to join those two together without the use of node?
I have also tried to place the lateral in main pipe but while running design analysis, the whole trunk pipe changes which I dont want. Is there any way that I can do this? Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you.
You will need a node, the program requires a node. You can create a feature definition that shows the correct 3d connection but you will need a node.

Hi, I have a similar problem as Jenish above where i need to connect smaller gully connectors to the main pipe, your answer confirms what I thought but it does not elaborate on how my node is going to find the correct elevation. when trying to place a null node for my gully connection i am unable to use the main pipe as a reference, even when using by conduit invert (with or without split). short of manually calculating and entering the elevation what is the official advice?
Any update on this? it's going to affect upcoming projects if there is no easy work-around.
Thanks
Are you just trying to connect a lateral conduit to the existing pipe shown in the picture?
Yes, the gully connection needs to feed in to the proposed pipe as shown
