In InRoads Survey, we found it was sometimes necessary to reload a field file. We could delete part of a field book and reload the file. How is that accomplished in OR Survey?
In SS4 that would be accomplished using the survey Redraw tool. I believe that tool is also present ORD update 2. The tool icon looks like a drafting triangle. HTH
This did not reread the file. I had to add a CFG variable so my linking codes would require the space separator but could not get it to reread the file once the variable was defined. All the codes that contained the ST code (STEPS, BRST, etc.) were still seen as ST EPS and BR ST. The EPS is a valid code, but wrong, the BR is not a valid code.

Hey Chuck: There is no way to force re-read the data files except delete the dataset and reprocess.
Also, the deal with the linking codes can be really annoying. As you have found, if start code is ST, any occurrence of "ST" gets parsed as a linking code and makes a royal mess.
The only solution is to make sure that linking codes never occur as any part of a point code. This is why you very often see people adding special characters to linking codes such as "ST*", "PC*" and so on.

We use the new variable CIVIL_SURVEY_LINK_CODE_IS_SPACE_SEPARATED which as an InRoads shop, seems to be a no brainer. But we are still working out our bumps with Managed Workspaces and a migration to Ss4. We ended up making a development workspace for testing before migrating those changes to the full managed workspace. It turns out the variable was missing in the full workspace.
The biggest issue is going to be the Survey technicians. They hate change and there is no doubt that the "standard" workflow is gone!
