MxRoad v8i SS2 keeps returning to the installer.Tries to write file gwOptions.exe but fails.

I'm working with Mx v8i SS2. As it was running improperly, I did a re-install. This didn't work out, as the installer couldn't write the file gwOptions.exe.

Ignore just provides the next error:

I tried everything, changing rights to the directory, of course I ran the installer as admin. No luck. The directories are all created by the installer, other files are written to them no problem. Here, no ignore, retry didn't work, and cancel ends the install process.

Finally I did a complete re-install of Windows on a clean HD. After tons of updates, a clean and fast 'new' computer.

I installed Mx, no write errors, only two or three register errors (didn't save these) that didn't crash the install process. Windows started up fine, but when trying to start ALGNmnt (Design, Alignment...) the installer started up again.

Hangs on the gwOptions.exe again, and stops at tie giads.exe. Installer starts a second time, same result. And Mx hangs with no response from the alignment-module, but all functions including exit blocked as alignment is still active.

Any of this sound familiar? I'm a bit out of options here...
