When I do a GEOPAK Drainage "Network Design", the progress bar quickly jumps to 80% and seems to hang there for quite some time. For the particular network that I am working on it takes 3.5 minutes to finish after getting to 80%. It feels much longer than previous networks I have designed with previous versions of GEOPAK. This is my first one with V8i. Is this normal behavior for V8i?
Thank you,
Josh Mauritz
Josh - The percentage counter increments based on large chunks of processing and not necessarily a linear progression. So the first 10% might be for areas computation and next 10% for node calcs. (no idea if those are reality just examples) My point is that the counter indications pieces of comps and not necessarily a percentage of processing time.
In my experience, yes indeed the counter does "lag" at 80% while the main and hardest part of the processing occurs. 3.5 minutes sounds long but perhaps not for a very large network. One of my test datasets sticks on 80% for about 15 seconds or so. This test network has 36 nodes and 35 links along with areas etc.
How large is your network?
