I am using Power Geopak v8i SS4.
I have a project site in NAD83, Int'l Feet, State Plane system. I tried to change it to NAD27, US Foot but was not prompted to re-project, only to convert units. To my knowledge these two coordinate reference systems use different datums, I would have expected a re-projection. What am I likely missing that is not allowing the re-projection?
So when you change the GCS in the Geographic tools, it isn't asking if you want to correct the data or reproject the data as outlined in this article, yet you feel it should ask?
I am prompted when I do this to an Alabama NAD83 system versus Alabama NAD27. What coordinate systems are you changing from and to within the 'Select Geoemtry Coordinate System' command?

I am changing from SC Nad83, IF to SC Nad27, South Zone, US Feet. I was not prompted for th re-projection but only the units change. I confirmed my workflow is the same as you suggest in the link you provided. I am assuming that this particular change does not need a datum change, but only the units to change. Maybe the datums are the same in this area?
