I am trying to use the "Create Geometry by Template" command in Power InRoads V8i to have the software display my roadway edges, including gutter flow line, top of curb face and top back of curb
After drawing a roadway centerline, I select the "Create Geometry by Template" command and I select the "2 Lane Urban" template provided with the software. I figured this one should work, since it's a pretty simple template. after selecting the start and stop stations, I only get the edge of pavement lines to display in my drawing.
I wanted to see the gutter flow lines, top of curbs and backs of curbs as well. All of these points have feature definitions that are set to "Create Template Geometry" (True) in the "Linear Default Settings".
I also tried the 5 lane urban template, and that one actually works, as long as I set the "Road Lane" Feature Definition-> "Create Template Geometry" to "True" (on). But if I want to display edges and curb lines but not lane lines, I'm out of luck.
Has anybody experienced this?
Thanks,
Chris

I have hardly ever done this but my guess is that each feature definition needs to have the "Create Template Geometry" set to true in order for it to create 2d geometry.

Marc,
The gutter flow line, top of curb and back of curb feature definitions are all set to "Create Template Geometry", yet they don't always display, and I can't figure out what makes them display when I use one template, and then the same features wont display when I am using another.
I checked to make sure that the feature definition names are the same between templates, and that doesn't seem to be the problem. In fact, I am using the templates and feature definitions that come with Power InRoads, not a customized set of standards, and I still can't get it to behave as I think it should behave.
I see this is an older thread, but I recently encountered this and due to other posts, figured out my own solution. I'll post my thread as a link, but the issue appears to be coincident points. It stops plotting lines when it gets to the coincident points - plotting one of the points but nothing past it.
[IR/Ss10] Create Geometry by Template - not displaying all points in template.
