I have an ORD terrain mesh that is 800Mb. What tools can be used in ORD to reduce the file size?
I Geopak in the old days there were tools to thin TIN files?
I undestand that the accuracy of the terrain mesh will decrease but that is not an issue.
Ok I manged to find the solution while working on another project. When importing the files whatever format you can use the ORD Terrain Filter (see image below) which has the old tools from Geopak. Awesomeness.
The funny thing I could not find anything on the Communities page about this. Maybe a video on how to do this would be another great feature.
I don't see these options in my 10.10 version? Really would like to thin a terrain (dense bathymetry)
The Thinning tools are available in import tools, so if you already have a Terrain you want to thing out, export it and reimport it, doing you will have access to thinning options.

I can not find anyway to import the brings up a thinning dialog ability shown in the screen shot above? Tied everything in Terrain Ribbon and looked and tried a few in the genetic File>Import without success? Is there a format of surface\terrain I need to use? My goal is to produce a smaller .DTM in the end.
Running ORD 10.10.02.03
Nothing in Online help about this feature I could find

Hello, any follow-up on why I don't see the filters you show?
Hello,
Sorry for delay - the option is only available when you use Import formats dealing with points, such as
Details about thinning can be fouind in OpenRoads help file.
So you would need to export your surface in one of these formats, to have ability to filter importing back the points.
