I have OperRoads Designer V10.01.00.48 installed in my machine. It is super slow and very unproductive if one needs to open and close several large files during the day. The program starts and shuts down much slower than MS V8i and dgn files take at least twice as long to open & close as well. I wonder is there any way to speed things up in configuration level? I have a capable workstation with 32MB ram so it should not be a bottleneck. Our organization workspace folder & recources are in a shared server folder. They work fine but will they slow down the program? MS V8i has always worked fine with network resources but I wonder is OpenRoads Designer somehow different in this aspect? In the current state I can't really use the program because it wastes so much time.
Hi,
You should upgrade to latest version. I believe the one you installed was earliest version and got a lot of "bug".

Ooops sorry, I made a typo . I have installed the latest version V10.04.00.48. It is just as slow as the previous versiio V 10.03.00.43
I managed to open 500Mb dgn file within 30sec based on my below mentioned laptop spec.

My OpenRoads Designer starts slowly so it takes a lot of time before I even get a change to open a dgn with it. Dgn files without dwg references will open in normal speed but dwg attachments seem to slow down the process even if they are switched off in reference manager.
Also, when I will close the program it seems to tage ages compared to V8i. Dgn files will take longer to shut down and the GUI will close slowly as well.
Do you have any Civil 3d object enablers installed? Ive found it slows DWGs down substatially in the Microstation CE platform products.

OpenRoads Designer 2022 R3 (10.12) | Microstation 2023 | ProjectWise CE 3.4
Just installed Update 3 and it is just as slow as before.
How will I know if there are Civil 3D object enablers installed?
Dwg references take ages to open. Drawings which have dwg reference attachments may take ten times more time to open compared to Microstation V8i.
