Hello,
I had designed an alignment with a starting station as say 19+600. Now as per client requirements, our scope has been revised to start from later chainage of 19+900. Using Element method, when I truncate the horizontal alignment to 19+900, in display the alignment shows from 19+900. But while creating a master string and doing the vertical profile, the option of new chainage at datum shows the previous chainage of 19+600 only. Am I missing something ??
Assuming you're working in Mx: Yes you are, because it is a bit hidden.
Within the alignment module, as you can choose reselect design model, horizontal, vertical... the before last button is Alignment Management. Here you can define a chainage datum point on an alignment, which will be calculated to the alignment's start point (so, you'll assign the 19 900 chainage to the first point). Chainage datum point are stored and kept in the GDS, as opposed to start chainages entered while generating master strings which you'll have to enter every time again. .
Hie,
Thank you a lot. Posting this query earlier without my R& D would have saved about a day of mine. But anyways, has solved my issue. And as you have said. The option is really a "Hidden one"..
