I am comfortable cutting cross sections using InRoads SS2 and then computing the cut/fill volumes and the quantity of different materials that were created with the design surface. However, once these have been created, there are always some type of manual edits required for fine tuning the sections.
Is there a way to manually manipulate the cross section graphics and then re-run the report? I use the "End Area Volumes" tab within the "Create Cross Sections" tool to create the report, and if I manipulate any of the shapes, after running the tool again, it reverts back to what was originally created.
I know a better work flow would be to go back and revise the model within the Roadway Designer; however, that is not always possible due with multiple people working through manual edits to the cross sections.

Are you exiting the Cross Section command after you make your manual edits?
I just tried both ways... It redrew the cut/fill areas in both cases. Unless you mean more than just closing the cross section dialog box...
I guess I don't understand what you're trying to do. I thought you were editing the cross section graphics.
It should work if you calculate end-area volumes after making the graphical edits.
Keep in mind, you can't make any edits that might damage the integrity of the graphics as InRoads data; you can add, delete, or move vertices but not much more. Also, you can't update (refresh) any of the surfaces or components in the cross sections or you will lose your edits.
If you're missing a component from a section, which happens way more often than it should, you're out of luck. The only way I've ever figured out how to deal with that is by going back to the corridor definition and re-run the model.
And to add to what Ray mentioned, you don't want to be in the Cross Section command as you make these edits. That command only reads the Cross Sections when it opens, so display your sections, close it, make your edits, reopen the command, and then just run the quantities.
