I have an FM road that I have an existing profile created using the "Quick Profile from Surface". The job entails planning 2" then adding a 2" ACP overlay, therefore the proposed profile will be the same as the existing. There are gaps at the bridges. I have one bridge replacement that I am creating a 400' length proposed profile. How do I merge this proposed profile with the first proposed profile (from the surface)?
Hi Rob,
We do not have a merge profile command, but you should be able to drop your profiles and then use the Profile Complex By Elements command to combine the two.

Sanders,
That worked. Thought I had tried dropping the original profile but got one of those "element type not valid for this tool", but guess I didn't.
Thanks, Rob
We also use the Profile offset tool to create a partial 0 offset element of the projeected profile to the point we need and complex this and the connecting element to maintain some dynamics.
You could also use the CAD trim tools to trim the projected profile but that can create it's own issues at times.
