If I enter the degree of curve when placing an arc, the calculated radius is incorrect. For instance when I enter d1 (for a 1° curve), ORD returns a radius of 5729.589' rather than the correct value of 5729.578'. InRoads SS2 and both the legacy and civil geometry tools in InRoads SS4 return the correct values.
This functionality seems to work correctly when the design file units are in US ft. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
HI Ray, can you give me more details on your workflow and I will try to reproduce it.
It's pretty simple. When prompted for a radius, I enter "d" and the appropriate degree of curve. An incorrect radius is returned. The radius of a 1° curve is 5729.577951'. The master units and units of resolution for this file are both "Feet" (as opposed to US Survey Feet).
This is using the Training and Examples workspace and the Training-Imperial workset.
This seem to be an issue only when the units of resolution are defined in international feet. Although, when the units of resolution are defined in meters, the results are correct despite the fact that the value displayed in the dialog boxes is incorrect (by the metric to English conversion factor applied backward - 5729.578/0.3048=18797.828).
Ray: Thanks for the heads up. I have tested in U5 and confirmed that the problem still exists when the units are set to international feet.

I filed the Defect 965623:Radius is Calculated Incorrectly From Degree of Curve when UoR defined as international feet
Thanks. It's good to know that I'm not the only one seeing this.
This is one of those defects that will prevent us from implementing OpenRoads agency-wide until it's fixed. By standard, we define curves by degree; by statute, we work in international feet.
