Jon, after further testing I've made my conduits.dgnlib my SUDA seed. This seems to work. It's not the preferred way i'd like my setup but if that's the way Bentley intended use then I'll have to live with it. Thanks for your help

Hi Jon, that's how i set them up but still no dice. It may not have been clear but my suda seed is NOT my conduits.dgnlib. in addition, SUDA Seed.dgnlib sits in:

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE\Configuration\Organization-Civil\Corporate Standards\Dgnlib\Feature Definitions

and conduits.dgnlib sits in:

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Corporation Projects\WorkSets\Projects Drainage\Standards\Dgnlib\Feature Definitions

Corporate Stanards.cfg sits in

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE\Configuration\Organization-Civil

and in that cfg it points the SUDA Seed to:

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE\Configuration\Organization-Civil\Corporate Standards\Dgnlib\Feature Definitions\SUDA Seed.dgnlib

would this config be the culprit?

Mark - you need to look at the DGNLib that the SUDA_SEED_FILE and SUDA_SEED_MODEL config variable are pointing at. This is the file and model that all of the Subsurface Utilities settings should be stored in - including the prototypes. Open this file, create the prototypes in it, and associate them to the feature definitions. When you then create a new DGN, you should be OK.
