invalid 3d element-child of corridor

I have created a corridor and now wish to have the template follow some linework that is not at a default distance that is coming from the template. in the template, in the point menu I have added the feature definition I wish to follow. when I try to add the linework as an external reference I get the following message "invalid 3d element-child of corridor". the linework is in a separate file with the correct feature definition and that file is 2d. do not understand the message. thanks for your help, brian

  • Marc,

I think I may have figured it out. The linework I was accessing to create the external references was created by someone else and they were using a different “project workspace” setting when opening the file. I changed mine to match theirs and it worked. A bit new to openroads and just learning all the unwritten rules!

If I could I would like to ask one more question. Are you using projectwise when opening the Openroads files? When we use projectwise it really slows the work down…so we have been exporting the files (locking them) and working locally. If we were using projectwise to open the files it should load the correct workspace….correct?  Thanks for your help and responding. Brian
