I have a wide top of pavement surface and I want to drape about 50 linear feature lines to that surface. I am trying to drape lane lines, breaklines, island outlines and pavement lines to that surface.
With ORD I can create a profile from surface several ways. Using the the "Quick Profile from Surface", "Profile from Surface" or right click and select "Add Surface to Profile" commands. None of these commands seem to set the profile active automatically. Currently, I am having to select each element individually, view the profile then and set the surface active . With 50 elements that can become very time consuming.
Is there a way to drape multiple linear features on a surface and set the profile active automatically?
My goal is to have linear geometry that is draped to a surface and hence becomes linked to that surface vertically. A change in the draped surface would update the linear geometry's active profile. The linear features would eventually be included in a terrain model and then an accompanying pavement surface template.
Hi Zane, it seems that you can achieve it with the command 'Profile from Surface'.
I have created some features, then launched the command, selected the features, right click then selected the surface, some other clisks to validate the options and I had the Surface Profile as Active terrain.
This command doesn't seem to set the new profile active.
The "Profile From Surface" will create a new profile for the features but won't set the new profile active. I have to go to each element, view the profile , then set the new profile active.
