Template drop split

Question

Hi, 
 I have a question in regards to template drops. For visualization purposes the client wants to split the template drop into segments of 2m (for example). I know I can do this manually and calculate the stations for each segment, but the corridor is really long and it should be split into roughly 721 segments. My question is if there is any simple way to this in PowerCivil, like introduce a template drop length or the stations without me clicking 1042 times?

If you give an interval of 2m for the template drop, it places them every 2m - you only have to give the start and end positions e.g. station 0 and station 20 in your example.

but then is it possible to select components that are 2m in length? because now I did it like you suggested, but I still select the whole template drop.

I believe that if you really want components that are only 2 m in length, then you will have to go through and actually make a drop point every 2 m. 
 Is there a reason that you want to do that? 
 We often set our template drops at far shorter intervals than we actually need because it makes the design more accurate, showing us what is going on between our actual section points. But we don't need to actually break the design into those tiny pieces. 
 If you really need the tiny pieces, you could try dropping the line strings to segments, but I'm pretty sure that would blow up your design into dumb elements.
