InRoads SS2 - corrupted .alg file with ProjectWise CONNECT

We are running InRoads SS2 v08.11.07.615. We have Alternate Workflow checked on. We are using Project Wise Connect Version 10.00.01.25. The .alg file is set to Read-Only. The user will check-out the file in InRoads and check back in after changes are made. Our .xin file is set to Read-Only for the Geometry.

From time to time without warning our .alg gets corrupted and empties out all alignments. We cannot figure out why this is happening. We scramble to find the latest .alg file on our hard drives and restore it as best we can.

Users open the .alg file as a single open while others use a .rwk file.

Any thoughts?

  • Thanks Chuck,

    I appreciate your comments

Only recently have we switched to the .615 version and using the alternate workflow option. I did notice that previously created .RWK files prior to the alternate workflow option checked on, the .ALG in PW would still be marked as checked out. When creating new RWK files with alternate workflow checked on, the behavior of the ALG file is checked out in memory as it should be.

If anyone would like to verify this it would be appreciated,

    Thanks,

  • Hi Joe,

Was there an explanation for why this error occurs at all? We recently (since Aug. 2019 to now - Dec. 2019) have had the same problem, just as you mentioned, it happens without warning or anything. We are using PowerRailTrack SS2 v08.11.07.615 and PW explorer 10.00.03.167. When the alg-file is emptied, it has 960 bytes in size and we could not even read the name of the Geometry Project (blank). It's rather annoying when it happens, so if anyone has an idea how to avoid it, I'd be more than happy to hear it from you!

    Thank you! LiPeng
