ORD: DGN VERSION COMPATIBILITY

HI. 
 I'm using ORD Coonect Edition 2018 Release to. I got some DGN Files whichwere modelled using newer version. So, now i'm getting the following error "Newer Civil Data Found". There is option to convert the dgn to current version. So. how to use the dgn file with an older version of ORD?

You can only use it as a reference file - so if it was geometry, you could reference the geometry and (say) build a corridor in a different file. You CANNOT edit the newer version in the older version.

It is not an error message, but an information message. 
 You can reference the newer version DGN into your file, but you cannot edit it.The later version would probably have newer civil data format, which the older version would not recognise - which is why it can only be opened Read-Only.
