In MX classic it was possible to export 3D markings to sketchup to get them visible in NavisWorks.
What is the workflow to get the 3D markings from our ORD-model visible in Navisworks?
Thanks!
If you have them in 2D try to use Stencil tool. This will drape them on whatever is visible in 3D view and make them as meshes. These should be possible to export to Navis. There are plenty of tutorials around the net.

OK, sorry I missread it that you have them already in 3D. Are they meshes or 3D lines? Meshes should be visible i Navis.
Hi Andre,
Sketchup export is still there so the MX process should be the same.
We manipulate our linemarking to get "real" dimensions for Navisworks:
1. Make sure your linemarking linestyles are using real widths/thicknesses.
2. Open a new blank 3d dgn and reference in 3d model that has linemarking and apply a Z offset of 0.005 in the reference dialog. This raises your linemarking to just above the surface for full visibility.
3. Merge your reference to master
4. Select all linemarking and drop linestyles using icon or "DROP LINESTYLES" keyin. Note a Microstation CE bug selecting complex linestyles here may mean this step will have to be done in v8i. You will see the linemarking now are shapes.
5. Select elements and convert to mesh (a few ways to do this).
A bit of mucking around, but you'll get good results in Navisworks.

Mark

Hi Mark,
The 'drop linestyles' did the trick, Thanks! :-)

Is there a way to convert to mesh in OpenRoads? I'm trying to export ENV lines to LumenRT. Thanks
