I am just starting the process of going from InRoads to OpenRoads technology. I am not a road designer. I do a lot of large scale dredging projects. I am daily producing
color elevation and isopach maps for dredging progress and attainment. OpenRoads doesn't have the View Color Coded Elevation command. It looks like the process to
produce the maps I must generate will be much different. I need to use the Thematic Height display which I am now trying to figure out.
I have many different color tables that I have saved out for InRoads that I use but will be useless now in OpenRoads so I need to produce new color tables in the Thematic Height
display. When I try to create my color intervals it doesn't seem like you can just pick a color from you current attached color table. You have know what 3 colors (Red, Green, Blue)
that makes up your one color I would use from my color table. To recreate all my color tables this would be time consuming. Is there any way you can just pick a color from the
attached color table when setting up Thematic Display height intervals?
Thanks

Setting colors in InRoads View Color-Coded Elevations:
Hi Jim,
You can set up once your display settings, export them as a Descartes Thematic settings file and import it when needed.
Marc thanks for your help but I was thinking more when your initially setting up your first color elevation table. To pick a color it doesn't let you pick from your current attached color table. You need to pick from the color model which means if you want a certain color you have to set it with the 3 different red, green and blue tones. I was hoping you could pick a color from your attached color table like you can in InRoads.
Jim, If you want to use a custom color table you may need to create a DGNLib with a custom colour book, see this wiki: https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/7185/microstation-creating-a-custom-colour-book
