After creating an alignment using the latest release of OpenRoads Designer we need to export it using the genio format. We have tried using xml format, but the results are less than OK because of the way only the minimum amount of data is stored in xml.
When creating a genio we run into several issues, both with creating the genio and with the contents of the genio. When creating the genio there are several possible outcomes.
After a genio is created, and if it contains both G and M-string, there are still several possible outcomes with regard to the G-string.
We have not yet figured out what the reasons are for the different outcomes as listed above.Does anybody know a way to make sure we can export using genio, like maybe not use a certain design option?Any help is welcome.
Hi Jan,
Make sure to use your 2D model for alignment export and 3D model for string export. As the 2D elements have "real" geometry even corridor elements will have Geometric elements.
There was previously a bug where no G-string was exported if there was start stationing or the vertical did not span the length of the alignment - maybe not fixed yet?
Regards,
Mark
