ORD R4U6: How do I show flow arrows in the plan view on our roadway ditches?

Does anyone have an idea how we can show flow arrows on our roadway ditches in Open Roads?

  • This works great. I would also need to add marks for the lowest and highest points along ditches. But not the global min/max but at every place where arrow change direction along ditches. Looks ORD will only annotate global lowest/highest point along linear feature.

Is it the way to automatically annotate/mark all min/max point along ditches?

for now my idea is to add event points at local max min, or create dummy CL with ditch profile set as active and annotate vertical change in plan as a localizator of profile extremums.

Possibly I miss sth and there is a way to automatically mark min/max along 3dlinear features. Is it? Or shall I log SR for change request.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Is there a way to annotate the low/high points of ditches in the plan? Ditches' linear elements were produced by the corridor template. I can easily annotate flow arrows but not my ditches' local min/max. For annotating points in Linear3D annotation group, it allows for the selection of  HIGH and LOW but it considers the absolute min/max point of the element. Not really what I am after.

Also, for the Linear Annotation Group (not 3D) you can annotate vertical profile in Plan but Low/High points will not work when there are no curves, and selecting VPI will annotate all vertexes along the ditch, a bit too much considering ditches linear elements depends on template drops interval and curve densification.

Do you have any clue how to do with simple workaround? without moving back to InRoads, Grasshopper, or without creating terrains from ditches and using ORD catchment tools?

    Best,

    Adam
