In other words, when I edit and save the chain, I just want the tool overwrites the unchanged geometric cogo elements instead of generating the new duplicate ones. How can I do that?
I'm on:
Bentley MicroStation V8i 08.11.05.17 Bentley Geopak Civil Engineering Suite V8i 08.11.05.39
Thank you.
Currently, the way the Place PI Alignment tool is designed it allows the user to load an existing chain, analyze that chain against predefined design tables and subsequently modify the components of the chain in a table format. The revised chain can then be stored. However, the way the tool now functions the name of the curve name is not maintained in the table, therefore the curve information in the table is used to create new curves each time the chain is stored. This is the current design, but I agree that the tools should maintain the curve name and simply restore the curve. I have submitted an enhancement request to change this behavior in the tool. Until this change is made, the naviagor in COGO is probably the easiest way to clean up the redundant curves.
Thank you for your soon replying.
I'm now in evaluation of MicroStation and Geopak for widely use across our offices. I need to show the capability of dynamic editing of proposed alignments and profiles to 12D Model users. Place PI Alignment tool might function similarly to that of 12D Model if it was enhanced.
I look forward to hearing about the enhancement for this tool.
