Hi.
I'm facing a problem while attaching reference .dwg file to openroads. This is very common and it is happening in both Openroads Designer and MX Roads.
While attaching a reference, it is coming in wrong position.
Attachment method-Coincident world. The scale and other things are coorecta and the drawing files are not having any issues.
Can anyone kindly help on this issue?
Thanks in Advance.
Snehasish:
You do not need AutoCAD to check the coordinates of the reference file. Just open it (or a copy of the DWG) directly through MicroStation to check the working units. No need for AutoCAD at all!
Again, you are very welcome. It is the weekend here, and- to tell you the truth- I just like helping folks in any way I can.
Now I think I've asked a silly question, was pasting the reference without checking the units of reference file. The problem is I don't have an Autocad licence in this computer to open dwg file to check the coordinate.
Thank you very much for your advice and your precious time.
Wonderful, Snehasish. Yeah, we so seldom deal with DWG files from clients or internally anymore that I practically had to think about the procedure again :-). The easiest manner to check the coordinates for certain is to open up the original DWG, get coordinates from that file, and compare them with the references coordinates as displayed in the dgn. I always did such even if it looked proper just to be sure!
Thanks a lot Mark. It worked properly.
Knowing the Master Units for your file, you can merely change the conversion units for your DWG reference files:
For the case illustrated here, the DWG file is being attached into a file with master units set to Survey Feet (you may need to scroll down to a different set of values for your particular issue). I just tested this scheme within ORD and it works as well as earlier versions of the software (I am using ORD R.4).
