I keep getting the below error when trying to open DGN Drawings from Projectwise but ONLY for drawings that i have created within Projectwise. If another user has made the DGN or I have created it offline and uploaded it i do not get the error.
The companies resident IT team has applied a fix which has worked in the past but it as not worked for me. Similarly we looked over the following guide : https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/35869/project-managed-workspace-error-starting-inroads-or-geopak-in-projectwise-connect-v10-00-02-265
This also did not work.
As a work around i am able to open a different drawing (one that I have not made in P'wise) and then inside Inroads I can open the problematic drawings with no issue.
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi John,
We haven't heard of users experiencing this before. If you create a dgn from a different seed file in ProjectWise do you experience a different result? Did you check to see if the dgn you created is being opened in the exact same workspace as dgns copied up to ProjectWise?

Hi Holly,
thanks for your response
I've tried creating a few different DGNs using a different seed file to try and sort the issue. However i still get the same problem. The only way I've managed to create a new dgn without replicating the error is to create the file offline then load into projectwise.
All of our work space settings are the same across all users and i've checked mine haven't changed.
I can open other peoples dgns with no issues and they can open my problematic dngs no problem as well. Due to this i'm assuming it is a bug/error in my software perhaps ?
According to the investigating work you've done, that seems to be the problem. You could also try your PW login on another machine to see if you can open the problematic dgn. Then you would rule out your username.
John, Just out of curiosity, how do you start the software that is used to open the dgn files. From your screenshot I guess you use the program association that connects the filetype to the program and allow that to start the software. From my experience using MX and now ORD it is best to start the software form the desktop/start menu shortcut, log onto PW and then open the file you want.
