Hi all,
I am trying to annotate the intersecting/crossing alignment names of my ORD Profile drawings and can successfully do this using a Text Favourite Label.
Is there any way to implement this Text Favourite as in an Annotation Group to label all my intersecting/crossing points automatically when applying Profile Drawing Annotation? Or even as a cell for Element Templates?
Regards,
Mark
Hi Mark, I've posted before with the same question but never gotten an answer (https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/geopak-inroads-mx-openroads-forum/174910/ord---annotation-of-intersecting-point-in-profile) So me to I'm very interested in impleting this if anybody have a solution.
Thanks Jeremie,
There seems to be a Profile Point Annotation group type but no way to link it to automatically annotate for a feature using feature symbology.
Missing link?

Good Afternoon,
I stumbled on to this same question today. There seems to be no way to annotate point features as part of an Profile Annotation Group. I can use the "Place Note" tool with a Text Favorite that points to an Element Annotation->Feature Name and can place those in the profile model no problem. I have a small issue of needing to create a 5 scale vertical exaggeration Text Style to play nice with our plotting, but I can live with that. I tried to get around this by using "Place Note" in the drawing model only to find that the Feature Name is not exposed when trying to create a Text Favorite in a drawing model. So I created the Text Favorite in the Profile Model, and it still worked in the Drawing Model. The only problem I got is that Accusnap decided that it wanted to find the keypoint of crossing feature as shown (Same result if I use any other snap). I was able to use a label to get around this.
After this, I attempted to create an annotation definition to take advantage of this only to find that there is no way to annotate a point feature (or PointEntity2d class per ORD) within a profile annotation set.
Currently, I'm using it to display the name of a crossing alignment for our roll plots, but I would use this same workflow to label existing/proposed utilities in Profile/XS.
Please let me know if I'm off base here and there's a better way to go about this.
Thanks!
hmm, this elementary functionality was implemented into InRoads many and many years ago. It is needed and basic function which is required by our users at each training . I hope it is a functionality which will be of course in OpenRoads somewhere secret hidden. Something is wrong when is no Bentley guys answer still.I am strongly interested in this functionality.
