I am working in ORD 2019 rel 1. I created profiles successfully using the Named Boundary command. The drawing model and sheet model looked good at first.
I think this might be the cause - the one user who has been experiencing this problem has a PowerDraft and an OpenRoads Designer WorkSpace.

RE: ORD Profile disappears

I believe my problem was due to having 2 WorkSpaceSetup.cfg files. One was local and the other was on the network drive. I removed the local WorkSpaceSetup.cfg and used my network version. My profiles have worked successfully since the change.

You might want to try loading the Bentley delivered WorkSpace & WorkSet. If they work without error then you have something wrong in your custom WorkSpace or WorkSet.

Compress on exit is disabled. I keep both horizontal & vertical geometry in the same DGN file.

RE: ORD Profile disappears

I believe my problem was due to having 2 WorkSpaceSetup.cfg files.
A couple of questions:

Do you have compress on exit toggled on in your user preferences? I was told by Bentley that compressing the dgn file at any point causes weird things to happen with non-indexed (profile or XSC) models.

Are you using any type of live nesting to attach your horizontal portion of the geometry to the profile drawing. I have also seen issues here when live nesting was set to level 2 in the default model to attach the horizontal geometry.

Hope this helps.

Did you find a solution to your problem? I'm having the same issue.
