I am a Civil 3D user who is not happy with the software. I'd like to hear from C3D users who have experience with OpenRoads. I have Power Civil SS1 so I have some background with Microstation but I haven't used it for plan production since it is old technology and I didn't want to spend time learning the tools. My current workflow is to do my site modeling in Power Civil and export it to Civil 3D via LandXML for pipe design and plan production.
My main concerns are product stability, performance, pipe networks and plan production. Please feel free to share your experience with me in private if you wish.
By the way, our primary scope of work is site design and gravity and pressure pipe networks. Very seldom do we do road corridors outside of subdivisions, and never DOT work.

The latest version of OpenRoads Connect (2019 R1) has a really slick site modeling suite. Our company does very little site design, but I have developed this dgnlib for possible usage, and the site tools are quite advanced IMO; well worth your time testing it.
Are you referring to OpenSite? I have been watching it. It appears to be based on SiteOps which was acquired by Bentley recently. I don't know if it is developed enough to be a viable solution for site work yet as they are still working on the plan production capabilities.
The suite that I am referring to is actually integrated into OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition, Neil. It is possibly available as a standalone- "OpenSite"- I suppose, but I am not sure if the functionalities are the same or not. I was- however- quite impressed with this newest portion of ORD. As plan production capabilities are very far advanced in ORD, I do suppose that the site design tools integrate well with such capabilities.
Can you direct me to any info about these tools. I would very much like to see what they can do.
