Hi,
we are struggeling to make a complex terrain model out of multiple point clouds (.pod)
We attached all the point clouds within the drawing and following we tried to make a scalable terrain model of it
Unfortunitely ORD keeps crashing...
Is this the right way to combine multiple pointclouds?
I'm hoping someone can help us with a workflow
It's possible that you may be attempting to create a terrain that's "too big".
How big is too big? I don't know.
Would creating a terrain for each point cloud, and referencing them into your design file work for you?

I have to agree with MaryB. You are making a Monster. Create a Terrain out of single or smaller blocks of Point Clouds. Make sure you are applying a filter to reduce the file size each time and also make sure you are only processing classified points. Then you can either create a complex terrain out of all of them or reference them each in separately, this would require a dgn for each terrain. I'm helping an intern here with the very same issues, He received a group of files from the city for a watershed project and was having the same problem. Unfortunately after I fixed it for him I realized the P Clouds were for an area 12 miles away. Practice makes perfect haha.

Thank you both! we made a Terrain from each Point Cloud and made a Complex Terrain Model with all the small models
