What is difference between Spots and Feature Spots from Terrain? How to calculate spots? There is no such entry under CalculatedFeatureSettings under templates.
The 'TriangleVertices' would correspond to a 'Spot' i.e. display them with (say) Z value. However, the triangle vertex could have come from any feature type.
Problem is that there are no spots if terrain is made from TIN or extracted from STM. So it is not clear what triggers calculation of these spots as for some terrains it is not possible to enable spots. We need these for labeling.
I imported a DTM, and the top half of the image shows the 'Feature Spots' from the DTM. The bottom half shows the calculated 'Spots' i.e. spots at every triangle vertex. (The DTM had contours with many points, hence the huge amount of text.)
If the original data does not contain spot data, there would be no 'Feature Spots' available, I presume.
This is how it looks if Terrain is extracted from STM (created from pod). No spots available.
Same issue with terrain created using ground extraction and then extracted to TM:
The workflow from Reality model to usable Terrain with annotated elevation is non existent.
