Hi Team,
One of my project scheme required to model Stone guard fence using Openroad Technology (SS4) tools. Can somebody suggest me with providing suitable/sample videos or materials which show the work procedure involved in a similar kind of work.?
For better understanding am attaching the images of the fence which I need to model.
Thanks for any help which you can give on this.
Chethan:
Is it truly necessary to "model" the fence or merely have it show up as a 3D entity for presentation? If the later, I would suggest that you create a 3D linestyle rather than making a formal attempt to model the fence in SS4; indeed, I have no idea as to how it could be modeled in SS4. In this manner, you could easily assign that linestyle to a linear element and have it display the fence in 3D (like it appears in your pictures).

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply.
Yeah, its a client requirement which they asked us to model it using SS4.
Thanks for your suggestion as well. Could you please brief me more on how to create a 3D line style which I can use as a Fence, please?
Quite simply, the modeling of a simple linear element would seem to be impossible because of the very nature of the element. 3D linestyles have been around for quite some time. A formal introduction to them I am unprepared to do here, but I am sure that if you do a search for "create 3D linestyles in Microstation" within the community you will certainly find answers.
Chethan,
Check out the 3d guardrail videos:

These should give you an idea of the concept - a 3d linestyle for the vertical items, with a template for the horizontal.I've created the 3d guiderail and I don't see any reason you couldn't model the fence.
