ANNOTATION OF SURVEY DATA POINTS IN LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE

I have my survey data file(.dwg) . I want to show (display) the latitude and longitude (in degree, minutes, seconds) of each point.

If anyone can suggest anything....

  • Vaibhav,

To work with Lat\Long you need to have a geographic coordinate system attached. You won't be able to do that if the file is an dwg so first save to dgn.

    1. You need to have a Geographic Coordinate System Attached.  You can find this under TOOLS > GEOGRAPHIC > SELECT GEOGRAPHIC COORDINATE SYSTEM  Select appropriate coordinate system
    1. Look for the coordinates in the lower right, left click on them and select ACS Position. If you do not have Running Coords. Turned on, turn them on now (right click, make sure RUNNING COORDINATES is checked).
    1. If you do this and you still see Northing and Easting, From the Main Menu Bar go to UTILITIES > AUXILIARY COORDINATES. In the Auxiliary Coordinates Dialog double click on your coordinate system. You should now see Lat/Long displayed instead of Northing/Easting
