When does the SELECT Server go offline and we will be forced to migrate to Connection Client for InRoads?

Many users are still using InRoads V8i SS2 and we are trying to determine if Bentley has stated an exact date when SELECT Server licenses will stop working as the migration to Connection Client happens.  Transitioning to InRoads SS10 is not viable for users still using InRoads SS2 because of the file format and workflow changes.  Ultimately we will switch over to OpenRoads but I don't know that all agencies, DOTs, and clients will have transitioned by January 1, 2020.

  • This is the first time that I have heard about a potential alternate licensing approach.

Considering that this question has been asked by various people on various forums for several months, and all previous replies were either "don't worry about it" or "just switch to CONNECT"...I hope the specifics are communicated more clearly in the future.

Thank you for (finally) letting us know that this HAS been considered and that a "fix" is being discussed (at some level).

  • Strongly agree MaryB, thanks Kevin.  Believe it or not, our surveyors are still using V8 2004 edition and Fieldworks as this is still the required platform for survey data to be processed for NJDOT.  I think we all want to be progressive and use the latest and greatest but sometimes you can't move forward for various reasons.
