A project has seed file of 2D of default design model, default sheet model & DPF sheet model. How to convert all these 2D seed to 3D in MX Road SS4 V8i?
Hi Vaibhav,
Can you please elaborate what you are trying to achieve here.
Actually my current project seed file is 2D. So whenever I try to 1) capture google earth image & 2) import point cloud data , the work doesnot get done. If there is any method to capture google earth image in model with 2D seed, that will also hold good.
Vaibhav, a 2D seed/file has 2 dimensions, that means it considers only the X,Y. Where as any terrain data like Google Earth or point clouds has 3D data, that it X,Y,Z or Lat, long, elevation. So in order to import such data you need a 3D file / model. You can try to create a new model within this file, and select 3D and work in this model to import the terrain data. Hope this helps.
When you create a new plan in MX, you should always get a 3D file. Where are you getting the seed files from?
Dear Amita,
please tell me the difference that will be made by the microstation setting change as shown in attached images.
The 'Project' changes the configuration so that it looks at particular folders for things such as seed files, level libraries, cells, feature definition libraries etc. The 'Untitles' project does not have anything defined - whereas the 'Metric' project has everything set up for a metric project.
A quick way to see the difference is to open a file with 'Untitled' as the project, and check what levels are available in Level Manager. Open the same file with 'Bentley-Metric' and do the same - you will see a big difference. Note - the DGN itself has not changed, but the libraries that you are pointing to have.
NOTE: as this is a completely different topic to the original 'seed file' subject, you should really create a new thread for it.
