Accudraw Focus Disrupted by Heads-Up Toolbars

I do not know if the heads-up toolbars are only in the Civil suites, but they seem to often steal focus from regular Accudraw when trying to accomplish simple drafting tasks, like moving something with one of the axis locked to align with a keypoint of another object. You will select the object to move and move in the direction of the axis to lock and before you can press enter, focus jumps to the heads-up tool bar. Is there anyway to prevent this, or add a button to the heads-up toolbar to return focus to AccuDraw?

  • I've been having this problem, too, coming from MicroStation.  I found one suggestion here--even though it was earlier today I can't find it again to credit the person--to bind "accudraw activate" to a function key (I did F11 because that's what it is in MicroStation)

That's a workaround so you can just tap the button to get the focus back, but I looked for an answer here to see if there's a way to keep it from happening at all which is how I found your post.  It's deeply irritating to have a stupid pop-up toolbar (which I almost never use) snatching focus from AccuDraw (which I use constantly, as in every few seconds) and I then have to keep telling the focus to go back to where I need it manually.

  • Yes. This gives me no end of frustration. I don't know if I'm the one who suggested the function key approach, or if I got it from the same post as you, but that's my "solution".
