 The terrain has a Feature Definition (and thus Element Template) making it grey:

&lt;p&gt;I have noticed this issue as well. I created a &amp;quot;green&amp;quot; feature definition to make the symbology look correct, but this symbology is not native to the actual terrain model. I am certainly interested in following up on this thread as there must be a better manner of handling the issue.&lt;/p&gt;
