Hi all
We're busy working on exporting OpenRoads designs to IFC. Half proof-of-concept and half because we need to.
Corridors export okay (although definitely not perfect, InfraWorks can't handle the IFCs exported by ORD), but we can't get Subsurface Utilities models to export to IFC at all. Is there a way?
If not, what's the best way of get SUE models into an SHP format that includes all of the detailed information? Or even at all?
Kind Regards
You can export to a SHP file with ModelBuilder

Not being able to export Subsurface to IFC must be a defect and we will get it logged as such.
For more information about the Road and Site design tools, visit the Road and Site design WIKI at: http://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki
I have published the SUE model to an i.dgn to maintain as much information as possible. Then open that in AECOsim/OpenBuildings Designer and export to IFC using that. Not perfect but you get the 3D model and object id in IFC.
Working on linking metadata to the IFC file at the moment using the object ID.
Asset Manager in ORD will export to SHP too.

Chris

Hi guys,
did you were able to export aditional information contained in assets by using asset manager to ifc? If yes, how you did it? Or do you have some idea how to save and spread all aditional information from your models (building age, cost, material, etc. etc) to outer world? Thanks for tips.
Partially successful.
