We are working with OpenRoads Designer 10.07.01.32 and producing plan and plan and profile sheet model with named boundary. I defined feature definition for the alignment and the ditches. When the profile is created ditches are annotated at each PI with sta and elevation according to road horizontal alignment Z value.
the thing is now, we want to manually move these annotations. Is there a way to lock/freeze so that it wont update if there is some modification.
Thanks
Gilles
Hi Gilles,
The ability to drop a text field to normal text is finally now available in MicroStation CE Update 13 (using the drop tool) and I expect that this will be used as the Base for ORD 2019 Release 3. You should be able to do this shortly.

Apparently this does not hold true for Civil Labels. They completely break and loose all information. Export form ORD 2022 to MS CE 16
I have also tried with setting Update to false, but they still break completely. The only workaround is to make a copy of the file and drop to text.
In my opinion there should be included an option to drop at export. Drop rules, drop parametrics, drop labels, drop everything and create a shareable 2D/3D model.
The Civil File Manager (an EXE file located in the program directory for ORD) Has an option to Downgrade Civil Model which includes to choice to "Remove Civil Model".
I haven't tried this with Annotation, but it might do what you are asking for. I could be worth trying to see what output you get.

That almost did the trick! Well it worked for the annotations, but not for the frame.
Still a very powerful tool. I will have to work a bit with it and see if I can achieve also the frame.
Thanks a bunch MaryB for a very good tip.
You're welcome!
I'll be interested in seeing if you can retain the frame. I suspect that may not be possible - Base MicroStation cannot create notes with a frame like that. We've asked for years, but it hasn't happened. But I'll be intertested in seeing what you find.
That said, placing a few dozen shapes vs. having to recreate the labels gets you most of the way there. Happy to help :-)
