Hello every one,
I’m new here, I need to use power inroad to calculate volumes for a drainage ditch for a project. i have a dem and a elevation in a asci file. Could you please send me the steps to do it ?
Thank you
What is the elevation in ASCII file defining? If you have a surface of the ground (created from the dem) and a surface created from the ditch features, you can calculate the volume between them.
Hi Mark,
Could you please send me the steps that i have to follow to calculate the volume, my ascii file contain the elevation of the ditch and of the ground .
The ASCII file contains the elevation - are there any XY coordinates? You need 3D features to create the surfaces.
Creating a surface is standard InRoads functionality. See (for example) https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/3286/inroads-native
my asci file contain Y X Z coordinate, i already create a surface with it with import wizard. since that i want to know what is the next step to calculate my volume
Use the existing ground as 'Original Surface', and 'Ditch' surface as 'Design Surface' - from the menu 'Evaluation > Volumes > Traingle Volumes'. Read the Help file for further information
