Hello, can anyone from Bentley tell me if this "Enhancement 394214:Add Multipoint Option to Create Cross Sections" was ever implemented in InRoads and also OpenRoads Designer?
If so, what is it called in OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition Release 2 Update 7 - 10.07.01.32?
I am not a drafter any longer...just the app support guy, but I need to be able to display this functionality to users/engineers so they will stop pestering me about bringing AutoCAD Civil 3D into our Bentley environment.
All I want to do is to pick a start point and an end point and have this app generate a cross section of a terrain that was supplied by a client and that I have imported from a Civil 3D LandXML output file.
Is this possible?
Please tell me there is a simple workflow to do this?
I do not have time to sift through dozens of training video's.
Thanks for any assistance in advance.
Bert, I can't speak to the enhancement, a listing of these is something that has long been requested in the forums here.
To the remaining question, the answer is, it depends on what you are looking to pull the section for. If is it simply to evaluate it, you can open a profile view from any linear object (even a MicroStation SmartLine to view it. This would pretty closely mimic the "Quick Profile" functionality in C3D. If you are looking to do something more "formal", you would need to use the plan production tools to create a sheet and work out of the drawing model.

You can do it quickly going to Reality Modeling/Section Tools/Quick Section. You must do that in a 3D view.
Works for me.

Such a handy viewing tool I added it to my "Quick Access toolbar.
