Hi,
I need to rework the superelevation along an existing highway and am having to eye the best fit centerline I can.
I am currently trying to intersect the mid points of as many perpendicular construction lines as possible. As you can see from the image below it is not always 100% accurate.
If I could specify points that my horizontal geometry could run through that would be useful, a little like the Through Points option for the B-Spline tool. Could a Complex By Through Points tool be added in a future release? (If this tool already exists please let me know)
Josh
Would a best fit be sufficient? I would try the Define by best fit. I also have been able to do a best fit on a MicroStation spline element before for a drainage centerline. This seems to be pretty dependent on geometry however, sometimes I just get tangents and larger curves that are disconnected.
