Is it possible to label multiple different alignments in the same cross section sheet. I'm trying to create a text favorite that will label alignment name, alignment station, and elevation. I have the elevation labels working. the stationing is not correct and the alignment names are all the same as the alignment that i'm using to create the cross sections from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm testing 2020 R1 ORD and can not get the stationing of the alignments to label. Is there a Openroads Cross Section Annotation Field that will label stationing of alignments. The stations I get do not match the alignment.
Are you talking about the station of the "other" alignment (IE: the station of the alignment that was not used as the basis of the cross section generation)? If so, I'd be curious about this, because my boss was asking me about this the other day as something we do in our interchange plans on cross sections. I told him I'd look into it. Fortuitous that this post shows up shortly after back from the depths lol.
Yes. alot of projects I work on have multiple alignments, As far as I'm aware of the only way to label thw station in cross section is to use the view name and that is only correct for the alignment used to create the cross sections. The station value that I get when using a text favorite that references the cross section station is based on the alignment starting at 0+00 and not the actual alignment stationing.
After looking around for a while and trying different combinations of Text Favorites, I think I agree with your assessment that this isn't currently possible. On the plus side, if we have to do it manually, we can just put all of our intersecting named boundaries in one file and use Analyze Point or event points to find all of those stations easily enough if we have to end up doing it manually.
We were already planning on having a 2D "Named Boundary Layout" file that shows where we are cutting XS at so that should be helpful.
