I am trying to place a background mask in my plan labels and have only partially succeeded. Is it possible to mask the entire label? If so how? The masked portions are done with a text style.
The text that is not being masked is coming from the text favorites dgnlib. There is a text style associated with the settings in the text favorites. Try creating a new text favorites or edit the one shown by changing the text style being used to one that has the mask setting enabled.

Hi David
This was an issue with the CONNECT Editions. It has since been resolved for MicroStation Update 13, but has not yet rolled over to ORD.See this thread:https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/microstation-forum/129572/connect-text-field-appearance---text-style-is-ignored
Text fields didn't pick up the "Background" property of a text style.
Hope this helps.
In addition to what Warren said, there is a defect filed for it: 'Defect 965292: [Annotation] Text Style Background/Mask not working' and it should be fixed with the 2019R3 release.
Warren and Mike:
Thank you very much for your replies. I will be waiting in anticipation for the 2019R3 Release.
David.

Has this been fixed? I am experiencing this problem in OpenRail 2021 Release 1 (Version 10.10.1.3). My colleagues were initially experiencing this problem but when I opened the same files on my PC the masks appeared correctly. However, now all of the sudden the masks have stopped appearing behind the computed text on my PC too.
