I am trying to place a background mask in my plan labels and have only partially succeeded. Is it possible to mask the entire label? If so how? The masked portions are done with a text style.
In addition to what Warren said, there is a defect filed for it: 'Defect 965292: [Annotation] Text Style Background/Mask not working' and it should be fixed with the 2019R3 release.
Has this been fixed? I am experiencing this problem in OpenRail 2021 Release 1 (Version 10.10.1.3). My colleagues were initially experiencing this problem but when I opened the same files on my PC the masks appeared correctly. However, now all of the sudden the masks have stopped appearing behind the computed text on my PC too.
Hi Rick
The one aspect of the problem has been fixed in that there is now an option to use the text style background for fields. It may be that it is not enabled on your PCs. In OpenRoads Designer 2021 R1, I can confirm that that fix is still working.
If you go to File -> Settings -> User -> Preferences -> Text, there should be a check box for "Apply Field Background from Text Style" that needs to be enabled. If the text style used has a background that acts as a mask, it should apply to all fields.
Kind Regards
