I have 2 huge terrain models I've merged into one even more huge model. How can I quickly create a rectangular clipped model of a small portion of the overall. I envision a fence or element that would be used to void clip outside the rectangle and leave me with a much smaller model.

Try the "Create clipped terrain model" tool and set clipping option to external.
