Hello, I am working in geopak ss4. My proposed profiles are not writing the .gpk file and I can't figure out why. I have tried the export to native button and have also tried recreating my vertical profiles but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks,
Therese
I have had similar problems with chains and profiles not getting written to the gpk when trying to store them. What has worked for me is opening coordinate geometry, then selecting File > Database Utilities and selecting the "Clean and Compress" option. You can also just enter "rebuild database" in the key-in window. Something is probably out of sync in the database, and this usually fixes it for me. My projects are still using SS2, but this should still be valid for SS4. Be sure to make a backup copy of your gpk first.
Thanks! Mark Sutheard Unfortunately tried both of these and still no profile in my cogo.
One other thing to try would be to delete your Geopak resource files and let the program recreate them. That seems to have fixed a few of my problems in the past. Have you tried to store profiles on another computer? If it works on a different machine, it could be a resource file problem.

Tried this too, no luck. Maybe a corrupt file. Early in design so going to recreate align and profile and see if that helps. Thanks Mark Sutheard
It was the character limit for the profile name. In SS4 and maybe other versions the profile and align names are restricted to 11 characters or less with no special characters or spaces but underbar is allowed. facepalm. Glad it got figured out though. Hope this helps someone else making the same mistake.
