I am using Open Roads Designer V. 10.11.0.38.
I have created various enclosed shapes to determine area quantities. I can find the area of individual shapes using the "Measure Area" command.
However, when I click the "Dynamic Area" check box, to add areas together based on shape selection, the command only provides the area of the last highlighted shape and not the cumulative total of all highlighted shapes. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted or is this command not intended for this purpose?
If Dynamic Area command inside of Measure Area is not for this purpose, is there a command in ORD that will cumulatively add the areas of selected enclosed shapes?
It seems to work. I selected all (3) 10x10 squares and get an area of 300.

Thanks, I was selecting the elements to measure while in the Measure command. Now, I see by selecting all of the elements prior to the measure command I can obtain the areas cumulatively. However, What is the Dynamic Area Feature used for?

I believe, if you make a selection set of overlapping elements, the dynamic area feature will find sub-areas as your cursor passes in and out of different bounded areas, as defined by the selection elements only.
This is very useful to measure areas that may contain other sub-areas as you can make your selection set to include only the elements you wish taken into account when finding bounded areas. By excluding some elements, the tool will ignore them when determining an enclosed area.
Sometimes, these tools would find elements not displayed that were part of a clipped reference file. By combining these types of tools with selection sets, you can preselect which elements to use and which to ignore.
