InRoads - Thin Surface

I am trying to use the Thin Surface tool on LIDAR data and I can't get it to do anything - could this be happening because all of the points are in one feature? I have ~500k graphical points in a DGN that I am importing using the Import Surface tool.

Not sure what you're trying to do, but have you already tried File->import->LAS data? You'll need to add it under Tools->Application Add-ins if you haven't already. This is the best tool for converting LiDAR LAS to DTM.

We were given points in a DWG file that I then brought into InRoads using Import Surface. I am trying to thin the surface because it is creating about ~700k triangles and has more data than we need.

Todd,

Try using the Tools> Application Add-Ins> Thin Random Points command and see if it gives better results.
