terrain model from multiple corridors

Looks like the way to go about it is to change the design stage of the corridors to final mesh, create a file and attach the corridors to that file. then use the create terrain models from element tool, choosing the final mesh….but what about the civil cels. how do you get a final mesh of a civil cel to add to the terrain model. thanks for your help, brian

  • Mark, thanks for your quick response. If I could ask a few more questions about your answer.

-by graphical filter you mean "select by attributes"?

-can this be done for the corridors and civil cels, eliminating the need to create a "final mesh"

-so i could have my corridor files and civil cel files attached to a file and create this selection set to choose the elements that i wanted to create the terrain model from. would you choose these elements from the 3d view?

    thanks for your help, brian

  • 1. No, I do not mean 'Select by attributes'. In the OpenRoads Modelling workflow > Terrain tab > Miscellaneous group, there is 'Graphical Filter Manager'. Use this to define what you want included in your terrain. If you have a consistent convention, put this graphic filter in a DNLIB so that it is always available to all your users.

    2. Yes.

    3. Yes. All the files are referenced, and the graphical filter will create the terrain.
